To the Love of My Life, 9 Years and Counting

In just a few days, we’ll be celebrating our 9th anniversary - apart from each other. Being away has given me the space to reflect on the things we’ve missed along the way. At one point, I thought I might lose him, because distance made me realize the issues we hadn’t sorted out when we were together.

But through this season, I’ve come to see more clearly the value of each other and the weight of our relationship. 9 years together has taught me that just because you’re not having big arguments doesn’t mean everything is okay. And just because you’re talking about goals and the future doesn’t mean it’s enough. What I’ve truly learned is that communication must cover every area of life, not just the obvious ones.

✨ To truly nurture a relationship, you need to grow together in many dimensions:

  • Body → passion & intimacy (to be flirty and naughty too 🙈)

  • Heart → emotions & affection (to not forget to compliment each other and highlight how their flaws made them unique)

  • Mind → vision & goals (always keep each other excited about the future)

  • Spirit → faith & values (reminding each other to never forget to thank the God of light, the creator of the universe, and light God a candle every week)

  • Intellect → learning & curiosity (continuing to grow with our own interests)

  • Play → fun & laughter (we play MU together, just in separate guilds though... lol)

  • Health → self-care & wellness (reminding each other to eat healthy and on time)

  • Money → security & planning (securing of future with wise planning and insurance)

  • Service → shared purpose beyond yourselves (giving charity to family, friends, people in need)

I thank God, the Creator of the universe, for opening our hearts and minds. Even in distance, we’ve learned to see each other more deeply - and love each other more now than we did in the past nine years.

Thank you for being my partner in this beautiful, messy, sacred journey of love. I choose you yesterday, today, and always.

💗 I love you! 💓

A new chapter for us!

Yesterday, Oliver left for Davao City to take his IELTS exam. If all goes well (and I believe it will),his next stop will be Manila for medical exams and the start of his working visa process for the UK.

I won’t lie, I feel a bit heavy inside. Knowing he’ll be away for years is not easy and our home already feels different without him here. But behind the sadness, there’s also a quiet excitement because this isn’t just about being apart - it’s about building something bigger for our future.

Our plan is simple yet powerful: while Oliver works abroad, I’ll be here still working on my job while managing and growing our investments. Together, we’re setting ourselves up for the kind of life where we don’t have to depend on a 9-to-5 job. A life where our farm flourishes, where we can travel, enjoy life’s comforts, and most importantly, have the ability to help others too.

This sacrifice today is an investment in tomorrow. And I know that when Oliver comes back, we’ll look at each other and say that it was all worth it. 😊😊💓💓

Hello Blogger..again?

Hi! Can you believe how long I’ve been away from Blogger? My last post was in 2019, when I was planning to build a home here in Negros Oriental. Now, I finally have a humble home on a 1,000 sqm piece of land with my dogs and cats.

I missed this blog so much! I moved to WordPress and continued blogging there for a few years. I felt sad leaving this blog because this is where I started my blogging journey. I hope I can continue posting here again, and I’ll just keep my WordPress account for random thoughts and whatever else comes to mind.

See ya! Byeee!
